WORDLIFE

Terms of Use

The terms you agree to when you use Wordlife. Plain-language summary: read and study freely, don't redistribute the paid studies wholesale, and understand the research is provided as-is.

These terms are a working draft and are not a substitute for legal advice. Please have them reviewed before relying on them.

By accessing Wordlife (the “Site”) you agree to these Terms of Use. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.

The service

Wordlife publishes biblical-research “artifacts” — interactive studies built on named, openly-licensed source texts. Some studies are free; others require a paid membership. We may add, change, or remove content at any time.

Accounts & membership

Some content requires an account. You're responsible for the email address you sign in with and for activity under your account. Keep your sign-in link private; anyone with it can access your account.

Subscriptions & billing

Paid memberships are billed through our third-party payment processor on a recurring basis (monthly or yearly) until cancelled. You can cancel any time from your account; access continues until the end of the paid period, and cancellation doesn't retroactively refund the current term unless required by law. Prices may change with notice for future billing periods.

Acceptable use

Use Wordlife for personal study and reference. Please don't scrape, bulk-download, resell, or systematically redistribute the paid studies; don't attempt to break, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the Site; and don't misrepresent the material as something other than what it is.

Intellectual property

The underlying source texts (the KJV Pure Cambridge Edition, the Open Scriptures Hebrew Bible, the Robinson–Pierpont Byzantine Majority Text, and the Strong's derivations) are public-domain or openly licensed, and remain so — we claim no ownership of them, and we preserve their attributions.

The presentation — the artifacts, their design, code, diagrams, and arrangement — is Wordlife's work. Your membership grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to read and study that material. It does not transfer ownership or permit redistribution.

No warranties

Wordlife is provided “as is.” We work hard to keep citations verbatim and traceable, but we make no warranty that the Site is error-free or uninterrupted, and nothing here is professional, theological, or legal advice. Verify anything you intend to rely on against its cited source.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Wordlife is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site. Where liability can't be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the prior twelve months.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time; material changes will be posted here. Continuing to use the Site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
